KB-399R Soft-Forming Edge Bander: One Machine for the Edge Furniture Is Judged By

The Edge Is Where Furniture Wins Its First Impression

Run a hand along a cabinet door or desk top, and the edge says everything — a clean, continuous profile reads as quality; a blunt seam or chipped corner reads as compromise. As furniture moves from plain straight edges toward softer, shaped profiles, the edge-forming machine has become a decisive investment. The KB-399R soft-forming edge bander handles both in one line.

Five Profiles, One Touch, One Machine

The KB-399R switches between straight and irregular edge banding with one touch, so a single machine covers full arc, beveled straight, duckbill arc, beveled arc, and straight edges. Instead of sending shaped work to a separate, often idle machine, a factory keeps one line running — higher utilization, less floor space, faster changeovers.

Where the Precision Is Decided

Shaping is carried by two high-power milling motors and four sets of positive/negative forming cutters, with four servo motors controlling blade height and position, so a curved profile stays consistent panel to panel. Positive/negative pre-milling prepares the third and fourth edges cleanly, letting the band follow without chipping — an edge that looks molded, not assembled.

A Panel's Quiet Journey Through the Line

A board enters, preheated by lamps and hot air so the band softens, then moves through gluing and pressing, with separate mechanisms for straight and beveled work. The band is grooved to bend cleanly, end-cut on precision rails, trimmed top and bottom, and finished with a flexible contour-tracking pass. A final scraping removes waviness, and a cleaning station clears glue and debris — the board exits with a seamless edge.

Behind the Build

KDT builds the KB-399R on controlled, modern lines, where frames, servo assemblies, milling units, and controls are fitted and calibrated to repeatable standards. The philosophy is simple: standardize modules, automate adjustments, and let the operator switch profiles rather than rebuild — how a complex line still behaves predictably every day.

Where It Earns Its Place

  1. Panel furniture and cabinet makers — high-volume straight and shaped edges on one line.
  2. Custom and home furniture — soft arc and beveled profiles for doors and wardrobes.
  3. Door and specialty panel production — consistent contour work on irregular parts.
  4. High-mix, batch-changing factories — fewer changeovers and less idle time.

The Pain Points It Takes Away

Most shops share the same frustrations: two machines for straight and shaped work, hours lost to changeover, chipping on later edges, and curved profiles that vary between operators. The KB-399R answers with one-touch switching, servo forming, anti-chipping pre-milling, and a large-contact belt press that keeps panels stable at high speed — so quality no longer depends on who is on shift.

The KDT Brand and Service Promise

KDT builds high-end furniture machinery around a simple standard — advanced, dependable, supported. Behind the KB-399R is a company focused on the real workflow of a furniture factory, with service to install, commission, and maintain the line: a machine that does two jobs well, forms the edges customers notice, and keeps producing long after the first order.
